A popular question that comes to mind when tracing the history of our television is, “When was the first television invented?”
Well, the patent for the inventing of the modern television belongs to Philo Taylor Farnsworth. Technically though, Vladimir Kosma Zworykin created all the previous components to be used for the modern television. His accomplishments make him appear to be the one who made the first television, however histroy tells a different story. Zworykin tried to sue Farnsworth for the rights of the television, but after a long 50 million dollar battle the court ordered Farnsworth had the right. Farnsworth had the patent for creating the very first television and from that point on, Zworykin has to pay royalties to Farnsworth for the distribution of the TV. Since Farnsworth was the first one to demonstrate the actual sending of signals, he received the privledge of owning the intellectual property for the creation of the Television, and therefore is the one who invented the first television.
